Welcome to Hamilton Creek School! We are a dynamic, close-knit community of students and staff serving kindergarten through 8th grade.
At Hamilton Creek, our collective focus each and every day is to bring our vision to life by creating and nurturing a supportive environment for staff and students so that our Cougars can grow and achieve both academically and personally. Not only do we strive to promote scholars, but we strive to promote and build good character so that all students who walk through the doors of our school will contribute in a positive way to our community and beyond.
My post-secondary education was at Oregon State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Teaching. As an educator myself, my experience is vast and has taken me to all corners of the world. As a classroom teacher, I started my career in central Oregon teaching 4th grade, and after a decade in the high desert, we moved our family of five to the other side of the world where we found career opportunities in Qatar, a tiny peninsula in the Middle East. There I supported students first as a reading interventionist, as a 3rd grade teacher, as a 6th grade lead teacher and finally as an instructional coach for literacy across eight schools.
The heat of the desert took its toll, and our family moved from Doha, Qatar to Bangkok, Thailand, where I continued my own education completing my Master of Education in Educational Administration and continued as an instructional coach and head of the English Language Arts Department. Missing the comforts of home, our extended family, and our oldest daughter, we have since returned to Oregon where my husband teaches 3rd grade, and our three children (young adults) are completing their own education and pursuing their dreams.
